RISE OTR Austin Recap

This experience is one that will be remembered for years to come! It for sure impacted those who attended and they are more than eager to share their experiences with others back at home.

Some would say, Austin, TX doesn't owe us anything! The explorers enjoyed a jam packed two-day exploration which included a trip to the Texas State History Museum, tour of the Capitol, special access to the House floor provided by State Representative, Dr. Alma Allen, lunch on the Capitol lawn, a bond fire, Escape Room challenge, a trip to the Hope Outdoor Graffiti Park, shops on South Congress, and a Spot Light Tour of The University of Texas at Austin.

Here are a few photos from the exploration. To find out more about how you can get involved with RISE OTR, email rise.empowherment@gmail.com. Our next exploration will be San Antonio, TX. Donations are greatly appreciated and are tax deductible.

The RISE Project OTR program is an effort to provide opportunities for the youth of the community to see and experience life beyond their everyday views. We believe that as a result of the OTR explorations, two things will occur. 1. The achievement gap will be consequently bridged as we focus on bridging the opportunity gap that exist for students who live in small town communities. 2. OTR explorers will be so inspired by their experiences that they will in turn be empowered to share their knowledge with others in the community and encourage others to reach beyond what they can see. We are dedicated to empowering others to empower themselves. As we build capacity within our youth, we are building hope in our community.
