Rise OTR took its members to Washington, D.C. to explore the nation's capitol to explore our country's present and past. We visited the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, National Mall, Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Willard Inter Continental Hotel, The Howard Theater.
On Wednesday, October 17, we took the Big Bus Tour visiting the Metropolitan AME Church, Mary McLeod Bethune Council House, African American Civil War Memorial, U Street, Ben’s Chili Bowl, Lincoln Theater, Dinner in Georgetown.
On Thursday, October 18, we took the Capitol Tour, National Museum of African Art, National Air and Space Museum, Southwest Waterfront, Sightseeing in Anacostia Park, Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, and the Penn Quarter neighborhood.
On Friday, October 19, we visited the Anacostia Community Museum, International Spy Museum, US Holocaust Memorial Museum, Busboy and Poets.
